Sentence
The Fourhundredandninetynineth
While it might seem to represent a
nodus in the evolution of this tale, to relate that, dressed only in
a hairshirt, with hands manacled to a chain which passed through an
iron ring embedded in the stone ceiling above his head; that
suspended thus, his legs barely long enough for him to take his
weight on
his toes, and from iron cuffs fastened to each ankle, they
were secured by a chain which ran through loops on those cuffs to
iron rings embedded in the stone floor; and seemingly filled with
trepidation at his dire predicament and quite understandably cast
into the slough of despond, with only the bleakest prospects of
survival ahead of him, Peter Boo WS, Edinburgh Solicitor par
excellence, flexed his right eyebrow in concentration and with
one flick of his wrists and kick of his feet, with one bound
miraculously yet swiftly freed himself and set about making his
daring escape from the Duke of Albany's notorious Torture Chamber
of Horrors!
